It is dangerous to drive or operate machinery with any condition that prohibits full field of vision. I would make an appointment with a Cataract Sub Specialist, and ask him/her the stage of your cataracts to be certain. They will be able to give you an answer by diagnosing your cataracts. Without seeing you in my office, I cannot recommend driving.
