There are three basic causes of stroke-hemorrhage, emboli, and ischemia. Hemorrhagic strokes may be caused by severe hypertension or by rupture of an aneurysm. They rupture without warning and are often fatal, taking life at times before the patient presents to hospital. Embolic strokes are sometimes associated with atrial fibrillation or heart valvular disease, and ischemic strokes are caused by a blockage in arterial circulation. The latter we believe is often caused by chronic hyperlipidemia as well as chronic elevations in blood glucose as well as chronic hypertension. For the vast majority of stroke victims, the presenting symptom of a stroke is...stroke.

All stroke patients should be evaluated ASAP.

Assuming she has had proper diagnostic testing and all are normal, she most likely is suffering from migraine headache since the vast majority of headaches are migraine based. If migraine meds are ineffective, Botox may help.

It depends upon the characteristics of the tremor. Benign tremors are typically more severe on intention whereas Parkinson Tremors are typically more noted at rest and look like the individual is rolling a pill between the finger tips

The diagnosis may be suspected by clinical observation and patient history. MRI, CT, and PET scans help to confirm the diagnosis. There is a genetic test as well, however, only about 20% of patients with alzheimers are positive for the genetic abnormality. Neuropsychiatric testing may prove useful as well.

The most common cause of hand tingling is carpal tunnel syndrome, which is due to compression of the median nerve in the flexor surface of the wrist.
