Dr. Amina Saqib is a pulmonologist who treats patients at Pulmonary and Intensive Care Specialist in East Brunswick, NJ. Dr. Saqib specializes in pulmonary care and critical care medicine. As a pulmonologist, she works with patients that have serious or chronic breathing problems. Primary care doctors can handle mild or short-term conditions, such as a cold or respiratory infection, however, you'll need to see a pulmonologist to diagnose, treat, and manage more complex illnesses that mainly affect the lungs. If you're experiencing symptoms of a respiratory disease, an accurate diagnosis is the first step. A pulmonologist uses tools and procedures such as blood work, bronchoscopies, chest x-rays, CT scans, spirometry, and sleep studies to diagnose chronic lung disease. Lung diseases can be debilitating and require comprehensive, long-term care. Pulmonologists are well-versed in working with you and your family to help you live a healthier everyday life. Dr. Saqib routinely performs bronchoscopies including ebus and navigational bronchoscopic biopsies. She also has expertise in bedside ultrasonography in critical care, as well as classic knowledge of hemodynamic monitoring in ICU and ARDS.

Dr. Saqib graduated with her medical degree from King Edward Medical University in 2006. Upon graduating, Dr. Saqib relocated to the United States and earned a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Wisconsin. She completed her internship and residency at Staten Island University Hospital. Dr. Saqib went on to complete her fellowship in pulmonary critical care through Staten Island University Hospital as well. Following her training, Dr. Saqib achieved board certification in pulmonary disease, critical care medicine, and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).
