Concurrent chemotherapy and radiation is the Standard of Care in limited stage SCLC and proven to give high probability of local tumor control.
Will someone need to drive me home after radiation therapy?
You will be OK to drive. Radiation for breast cancer has to be daily, 5 times a week. I am not sure that 3 days a week treatment is adequate. It is not Standard of Care!

If she has been having diarrhea, I would advise to take Imodium (over the counter) 2 pills after watery or loose bowel movement and then take it again 4 hours later only if diarrhea happens again. Very important to maintain soft diet (avoid any type of fiber, such as fresh vegetables and fruits, grapes, whole grain cereal or bread) and drink a lot of fluids until bowel movements become normal.
She may need intravenous hydration, which can be arranged by her medical oncologist. It can make her much stronger.

Skin hyperpigmentation and redness are normal reaction to breast irradiation, however, it usually develops towards 3-5 weeks of treatment. Early reaction (after the second treatment) may manifest increased skin sensitivity. It doesn’t mean you should discontinue radiation therapy, but take good care of your skin. You can apply pure Aloe Vera juice or gel to your skin 3-4 times a day and Aquaphor cream in the morning and before going to bed at night. You should also make sure that your skin is clean and dry while you're getting radiation treatment.
