Scientific research has found that spending time at the beach or near water boosts your creativity, balances your mind, restores energy and improves the way you feel.  You've probably noticed how spending a day at or near the water makes you feel more relaxed, rested, and re-energized. These feelings are real; they're not just in your head.

Scientific research confirms that when you spend time by the water, your brain actually changes. Your mind is put into a restful and almost hypnotic space. This is thanks to the soothing smells and sounds of the water. Researchers refer to this as "blue space."

Whether it is walking, sitting, canoeing, surfing or swimming, here's what a visit to the beach or a trip to the river can do for you:

Boosts creativity: Being in a blue space makes you more creative because it allows your brain to become relaxed. Being in this dreamy space allows your imagination to come to life. These positive ions and other positive minerals are found in water, especially sea water. They have a regulating effect on the negative ions given off by appliances used on a regular basis that can leave you feeling angry, anxious, and overworked.
