A holder of a lifetime Federal judiciary appointment who never appeared before a trial, jury, or judge, and who is deemed unqualified by the American Bar Association made a medical announcement backing her judicial banning of masking in public places. In so doing she usurped the responsibility of the CDC. Her medical judgment was roughly as follows "Masks trap saliva and aid the growth of viruses and germs instead of permitting healthy air to clear away disease." So, she knows that hammers fall much faster than feathers and that the Earth is the center of the universe. Galileo to her must be a good little wine. The CDC has had her wisdom sidelined with a charge of expropriation of Congressionally defined powers.
On another note but equally serious, supporters of the American Red Cross are asking the IRC and the UN for help in obtaining armored ambulances and militarily protected treatment areas in adjoining NATO countries. Such concerns ignore the reality that moral offenders may not be Geneva convention signators. More and more decisions are being made in areas with medical issues and penumbra overhanging. Perhaps it is only as survival of the species is clearly at issue that fearful recognition of what was always true emerges.
