A new variety of coronavirus has been discovered in Denmark meeting the criteria for a phase 2 surge. Meanwhile, the original Covid-19 agent is still ravaging the USA and the world. The Trump administration is still promising an almost immediate vaccine despite protests from most of the major pharmaceutical companies. MOM is also promising the disappearance of the virus and relying on a quack interpretation of herd immunity as ameliorative. As of 8:00 a.m. ET Thursday, US cases stood at 9,488,875 cases with 233,734 deaths respective increases of 103,369 cases and 1,096 in the past 24 hours. MOM has used criticism of masks, social distancing, and most recently the ethics of health professionals, accusing them of profiteering through death diagnoses of Covid etiology.
All of the foregoing, notwithstanding, mishandling of and absence of planning for Covid-19 did not seem to have impacted the gaming and gambling instincts of Americans. The prediction that a morally sensitive electorate would smashingly dismiss America's pseudo royals proved wrong. The myth of the rugged individualist carrying the white man's burden forward in time makes black lives matter less, women's lives matter only as bringing to life succeeding generations of a master group who define the context in which inferiors can find a place supporting them. Biden and Harris will be blamed for not operating within that racist framework of America first and withdrawal from world cooperation in issues such as global warming and pandemic control.
