The United Nations General Assembly adopting the recommendations of the World Health Organization, has announced through its Scandinavian female leader, a commitment to three hundred trillion euro expenditure from now to 2050 to arrest and reverse the human contribution to global warming and climate change. All of the industrialized European countries are committed as well as China (with reservations). The USA, which is not a WHO signator, has made a limited commitment. Pakistan, Turkey, and many other middle eastern countries have objected, claiming the right to traverse the same industrial economic pathway that was pursued by nineteenth and twentieth century Europe and America. (USA and Canada) Russia has made a limited commitment, but because of its heavy dependence on Ukrainian coal is not fully aboard.

The significance of this action is great because it is the first huge monetary acknowledgement of the perilous plight of the planet and the need for worldwide cooperation in order to avoid disaster. It may be the first acknowledgement by a consortium of nations that mother earth is in jeopardy and the prolonged joint continuous action is needed. ABC World News has been following the Australian Fire Havoc via David Muir and associates. The latest reporting indicates the loss of an American Firefighting plane and its California based crew of three. The reporting tells us of the loss of millions of animals, hundreds of thousands of acres of deforestation, and the disastrous impact on the world's ecology.

That program also keeps us posted on the progression of the Corona viruses and the emergence of a strain from Wuhan China that does not require a vector for transmission, but is infectious via human to human transmission. We know enough to suspect respiratory system transport. Please check previous FindaTopDoc submissions. It does not seem to be a time for world travel. The isolation of Wuhan may be too late to prevent the spread of the new corona virus. Cruise ship travel seems inadvisable because of the instability of the oceans and the presence of the old Noro virus aboard cruise vessels. The political climate worldwide seems to be negative enough to identifiable Americans who can be singled out for attack. Gun control discussion is bringing out rabid second amendment rallying and gun displaying here in the USA. We are reminded that militias are a reality and they may be awaiting a clarion call rather than a series of dog-whistles to sally forth destructively.

Opioids are a continuing major problem as is vaping or crime. While overall crime statistics may be falling regionally, the statistics for inner city crime areas are increasing. It may well be time to stay home, stay safe and avoid being a victim of the blue planet striking back against a pesky species that is hastening its destruction.
