Thank you for your question. Common side effects of acupuncture are slight bruising, soreness and minor bleeding at area where needle was inserted. If an area where the needle was inserted is causing pain, I would recommend applying arnica cream to reduce the pain. Soreness caused by acupuncture should dissipate within 24 hours. If you are having more discomfort after your acupuncture treatment, please call to let your acupuncturist know so he/she can further assist you.

Hi there.

Your acupuncturist will first have to determine the root cause of your migraine. For women, migraine can be caused by hormonal changes during menstrual cycle, lack of sleep, skipped meals, anxiety, stress, too much caffeine or caffeine withdrawal and even change in weather. Once your acupuncturist determines root cause of your migraine, he/she will be able to carry out the correct treatment plan tailored to meet your body's needs. Typically, it takes 5-6 treatments to see a big change in your symptom.
