Type 2 Diabetics Ignore Heart Health, Study Says

Coronary Heart Disease

In this heart disease, coronary arteries are blocked by building up plaque. The arteries supply blood that is rich in oxygen to the heart muscle. The fat, calcium, and some other substances in the blood make up plaque. The condition where the plaque is building up inside the arteries is called atherosclerosis.  When plaque builds up, it becomes likely that there would be a blood clot in the arteries which block blood flow partially or completely. Coronary heart disease can cause discomfort, chest pain, irregular heartbeats or sometimes death.
