Academy Award nominee, actress, and producer, Salma Hayek, became a known spokesperson for diabetes once she was diagnosed with gestational diabetes when she was pregnant with her daughter. Not all people know that gestational diabetes can increase the risk of type 2 diabetes. Salma Hayek vouched that if she had to do it all over again, she would have never ate too much fruit in the beginning of her pregnancy. She added that she did not know that eating too much fruit is a big "No" for women who have gestational diabetes. Hayek admits to having a history of diabetes in her family.
