7. Richard Cohen
Richard Cohen is an Emmy-winning TV producer. He was diagnosed with MS in 1973, at the age of 25. Now 70, Cohen has had more than enough health issues to handle, including a two-time battle with colon cancer and blindness. In his autobiography, titled “Blindsided: Lifting a Life Above Illness: A Reluctant Memoir”, he confronts the nature of denial and resilience, as well as the emotional struggles of health and family.
“If you choose to become a victim, then you’re going to stop living. You’re making a very big mistake. We’re not victims, we’re just people who are dealing with a big bump in the road” said Cohen.
