5. Victoria Williams
Victoria Williams is an American singer and songwriter. In 1993, her friends and musical artists, Lou Reed and Pearl jam, recorded the album “Sweet Relief” to raise funds for her medical bills. The same year, she founded the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, a nonprofit charity dedicated to helping professional musicians receive funds when in need of medical or financial support. Having been diagnosed with MS for over 20 years, Williams continues to use her position as a source of support for others.
She stated that making music has had a therapeutic effect on her – “It’s a healing thing.”
