10 Common Problems with CPAP Machines
Problem 9: The CPAP device is accidentally removed while sleeping
Waking up and seeing that the mask has been removed during sleep is normal, especially for those who move a lot in their sleep.
Solutions:
Choose a full face mask.
A full face mask has a snugger fit, so this may seem more appropriate.
Ensure that the mask fits properly
Again, unintentional removal can be lessened if the mask is a good fit.
Use a machine that has a heated humidifier
It is possible for congestion to occur while using the device, resulting in an unconscious removal of the mask. In this case, a humidifier can ease congestion.
Make an effort to wake up and check if the device is still in place
Set an alarm sometime at night and see if the device has not been removed.
