Germs and other illnesses are dangerous for those with CF.
Germs and other common illnesses (the common cold, flu, etc.) are especially dangerous for people with CF. The reasoning behind this is, when the human body detects germs, it will release white blood cells to kill the germs. In doing so mucus is created in the lungs, and the nose. Due to the irregularity of the mucus in CF patients this is exceptionally dangerous and can cause further complications if not treated quickly and directly. Medical studies also show that people with CF are more at risk from cross contamination, and that certain germs are an especially high risk for those with CF.
