15. Gastrointestinal problems
Those with lupus often experience acid reflux, heartburn, and other gastrointestinal problems. OTC antacids can help treat mild systems. However, if you have recurrent attacks of heartburn or acid reflux, try eating smaller meals, avoiding caffeinated beverages, and don’t lie down right after eating. If symptoms continue, there are medications that can be prescribed to help.
These are the symptoms developed by the American College of Rheumatology and help doctors diagnose lupus. If you experience four or more of any of these symptoms at one time, this is a good indication you have lupus.
