15. “You would feel better if you got more sleep.”
Better quality sleep and more of it would help. However, one of the major problems with fibromyalgia is you cannot fall into the deepest stage of sleep. Even if you can stay asleep for several hours, you won’t wake up feeling rejuvenated. Fibromyalgia patients do not spend much time in stage four deep sleep. Their sleep is interrupted by bursts of awake-like brain activity, so fibromyalgia patients are not able to get restful and restorative sleep.
