20 Celebrities Diagnosed with Sleep Apnea

Shaquille O'Neal

Shaquille O’Neal is another example of a celeb who has chronic sleep apnea. The basketball legend, who has also made an appearance in baseball and as a sports commentator, knows all too well the health issues associated with obstructive sleep apnea and has spoken openly about it helping others to feel less alone.

In an interview with Harvard Medical School, Shaq and his wife sat down to explain how he was diagnosed with sleep apnea. When asked whether or not he snored, his wife stepped in and said, "It usually happens when he's on his back and when he just... gets into that deep snore [...] he stops. His chest will stop moving, and he would stop breathing."

Shaq has opened up on using a CPAP mask that has assisted him in feeling better overall and has improved his sleep schedule. Now he is back in business and sleeping better than ever with treatment.
