Practice deep breathing for 30 seconds just twice a day. Did you know mindfulness can change the structure of your brain?
Just as important as a healthy body is a healthy mind. However, people often neglect their mental well-being even more than their physical state. Ironically, the mind plays a larger role in our overall health than most realize and should not be neglected by any means!
This doesn’t mean you have to spend $100 an hour talking to a therapist; in fact, mindfulness exercises have been shown to be incredibly beneficial for the brain, and best of all, they don’t require a lot of space or time. All it takes is focusing on your breath, noticing what it feels like as you inhale and exhale normally, with your eyes either open or closed. Think about how your clothes feel on your skin, how your feet feel on the floor, etc. Doing this for even just 30 seconds twice a day can improve your mental health! The benefits of practicing mindfulness include reduced stress and anxiety, greater focus, boost in memory, and a general increase in emotional stability.
Once you feel comfortable with 30 seconds, start trying 1 minute at a time, and go from there!
