Stick to Meatless Monday
What was once a wartime effort during the 1940s to aid the country and show a little patriotism is now a healthy life hack: going vegetarian at least once a week is great for your health! By limiting your weekly meat intake, you’ll reduce your risk of developing cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and obesity. Some meat is good to include in your diet, like red and lean meats, but you don’t want it to be the central component, even more so if you’re a fan of processed meats.
Moreover, when you eat like a vegetarian, you replace your usual carnivore cravings with healthier options, such as legumes, whole grains, and cruciferous greens. These swaps will further decrease your likelihood of developing major diseases as well as increase your vitamin and mineral intake. You don’t have to be religious to subscribe to Meatless Monday; whatever your preferences, your body will reap the rewards of a once-weekly vegetarian practice.
