Successful research for diabetics
Heart disease is one of the biggest hazards for people with diabetes. Studies have shown that use of certain medications has reduced the risk of heart issues for those with type 2 diabetes. However, until recently, those with type 1 diabetes who were also at risk for heart disease did not have any options to ward off heart attacks with medication.
Thankfully, recent studies have shown that long-term use of the drug metformin does indeed reduce the risk of heart disease for those with type 1 diabetes, which is big news for diabetics because heart disease is by far the most dangerous and deadliest complication of diabetes.
