Lesson 4: Doctors Don’t Have Sufficient Knowledge on Fibromyalgia, and It’s Not Their Fault
Since Ginevra was diagnosed with the disease, people have gained more knowledge, and there has been significant progress in treating fibromyalgia. However, the information hasn’t reached those doctors providing care for the patients. Most care providers are busy and don't have time to go search for a treatment for a new disease. Also, chances that they will come across fibromyalgia in medical publications are slim. There hasn’t been any fibromyalgia studies published since 1987 and that one that was published in that year is the most read medical journal in the world.
