Many of those with fibromyalgia are looking for way to relieve the pain. Sometimes, looking for support from both family and friends is not enough for fibromyalgia patients and they need ways to temporary stop the chronic pain in order to go about their daily routine. This could be finding some natural remedies or even going through multiple therapies for them to center their own mind. But, it may surprise some that working out and taking part in a few exercises can help relieve some of their pain and help patients with many of their daily activities. 

Although many may find it counter intuitive, working out and exercising can help patients treat fibromyalgia pain. The constant movement and stretching of the fatigued joints and muscles is an effective way to find a routine for patients that supports their body through the chronic pain. That being said, it is important that the exercises are mindful and toned down to avoid burnout and worsening of the symptoms. Most researchers have hypothesized that the painful sensations that plague victims are as a result of a wrongful processing of pain signals by heightening them and the translation of sensations that are not pain related into painful experiences. There is not much known about fibromyalgia, as it hasn't been considered a disease until recently by doctors and specialists. This makes patients feel isolated and even depressed as they go day-to-day with symptoms of pain that no one else can really see.

Walking, Tai Chi, the Feldenkrais method, weight-lifting, yoga and other body and mind-centering exercises are able to help patients not only with their physical pain, but also mental pain. These exercises will help a fibromyalgia patient with their challenges in sleeping, day-time fatigue, memory and altering mood as many of them are known to help boost the energy of some patients. While performing these exercises, patients should also have a healthy diet that will boost their protein and potassium and stay away from any form of stimulant and alcohol should be avoided. Research has shown that patients with little to no consumption of alcohol have a significant reduction of fibromyalgia symptoms. It is also recommended that patients should do these exercises within a group with friends or family, the support will help some overcoming their various symptoms and even help friends and family further understand the pain that they are feeling, even when it could seem like the patient's pain is invisible.
