Hodgkin lymphoma risk factors

The NIH tells of the following risk factors for childhood Hodgkin lymphoma: “Epstein-Barr viral infection, HIV, immune system diseases to include asthma and Type I Diabetes, a personal history of mononucleosis, or having a parent or sibling with a personal history of Hodgkin lymphoma. Any of these conditions makes a child more at risk for contracting Hodgkin lymphoma.

Hodgkin lymphoma can attack both children and adults. While treatment for children has been modeled after that for adults, marked changes in radiation and chemotherapy dosages have been necessary, to help lessen adverse effects on their developing bodies.
