Depression is still not well-understood
Depression in Parkinson’s patient is, however, tricky to diagnose, as it is just often mistaken as “part of growing old” and commonly disregarded. Currently, Parkinson’s is now a neurological disorder that not only affects motor skills, but also the mind. Doctors note that the loss of the ability to control motor movements caused by Parkinson’s may affect the onset of depression. It may also be that depression occurred before the diagnosis of Parkinson’s.
