New study about the mind and alcohol
This study was done at the University of California, San Diego. The study was the first of its kind to decipher the trend between the amount of alcohol consumption and its protective effects on the aging brain. The researchers followed over 1000 older adults for a period spanning 2 decades, dating from 1988 to 2009. These individuals were functional and healthy, meaning they were senior citizens that did not have to live in a nursing home. All participants were residents of a suburban county known as Rancho Bernardo, located in San Diego.
