Alzheimer's Disease and Personality Changes

Questionnaire used in the study

Questionnaire used in the study

Professor Terracciano and colleagues used the NEO Personality Inventory to assess and report the personality changes. The questionnaire assessed 5 different categories: conscientiousness, neuroticism, openness, extraversion, and agreeableness. Having adjusted different factors such as age, race, gender, and education, the researchers found that the personality changes were not extensively different among those individuals with and those without AD. The study’s findings revealed the personalities of individuals with AD remain unchanged before the occurrence of the disease.
