Autism: TV Makes Strides in New Programming

As technology has progressed over recent years it has become increasingly easy for teams to create more elaborate television shows. With new streaming sources like Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime, writers and producers have also been able to look outside traditional networks in order to create and air projects that may be less mainstream. Some of these factors may have helped pave the way for new TV shows that are centered around characters dealing with autism. This fall, two shows in particular, “Atypical” and “The Good Doctor” explore the everyday lives of autistic individuals.
