Kiersten Rickenbach and her husband, Dr. K. Andrew Cerveny Jr., met in 2004 at the Medical Center of Louisiana at New Orleans as medical residents. They married in 2009. Kiersten was previously married--a marriage that ended in divorce.

At the time that they married, Kiersten was the Chief of Dermatology at Brooklyn Hospital Center, and also an assistant clinical dermatology professor at Weill Cornell Medical College. Previously, she graduated magna cum laude from Duke University and got her medical degree from Tulane University.

Her husband is currently a practicing dermatologist with Island Dermatology and is on staff at Long Beach Hospital. He graduated summa cum laude from Akron University, and got his medical degree from the Northeastern Ohio Universities Colleges of Medicine and Pharmacy.
