Another study has been conducted related to the effects of probiotics towards celiac disease. This study was published in the Journal of Probiotics and Health. The findings suggest that VSL#3, a probiotic with eight different bacterial strains, is capable of decreasing gluten due to the bacterial strains that are considered as gluten-digesting microbes. Therefore, aside from delaying the onset of celiac disease on genetically pre-disposed children, probiotics can also be used to lessen the gluten in the body of celiac disease patients.
