Sharon reacted violently to the anesthesia she received for the surgery. During her recovery, the painkillers not only gave her an allergic reaction but also failed to relieve any of her pain. The fiasco resulted in two ambulance trips to the emergency room and a 72-hour overnight hospitalization. Sharon remembers spiking fevers and hallucinating for much of recovery time.
