It's just a belly ache.
Another comparison people mistakenly make when referring to UC, Crohn’s disease, or other IBD’s is that they are just belly aches. A sharp pain in the abdomen is only one of the symptoms that IBD patients may experience. However, when the intestines are inflamed and the immune system compromised, the person may begin to experience extremely chronic and widespread pain all throughout their abdomen and digestive tract. The pain may not always be this severe, but when it is, it is more than just a belly ache or cramp and can eventually lead to painful ulcers and even violent vomiting.
