Now, we all want our doctors to be diligent, right? But there are some doctors that take it to an extreme. Throughout your journey with cystic fibrosis you will likely find that certain doctors will analyze your every move. Some people appreciate this, as they know nothing will go unnoticed in their care. However, if you don't want your every cough, blink, and flinch analyzed on a deeper level of its connection to your cystic fibrosis, make sure that you know what's "normal" for you or not, so the doctor won't send you for tests for something that's always been present and never presented itself to be associated with any problem.
It is hard to be aware of the small tics are body has, but if you pay attention to them, you will be better able to speak to their significance or insignificance. However, of course, if there is any chance that the doctor is correct in attempting to connect your seemingly benign mannerisms to cystic fibrosis, it is better to be safe than sorry and to follow through on whatever test they want run in order to ensure that you are fine in that regard. Sure, it may get frustrating to have doctor visits and routine procedure last significantly longer than what you believe they're supposed to, but if it aids you down the line the extra time is definitely worth it.
