Cystic Fibrosis Median Survival Rate Has Quadrupled Since the 60s

CF survival rate and the Cystic Fibrosis Trust

It should be encouraging to those with CP and for those who love them, that The National Institutes of Health reminds us that in 1962 the “predicted median survival rate was about ten years, with few surviving into their teenage years." It’s apparent there’s been marked advancement in the treatment of those with CF.

In the UK, The Cystic Fibrosis Trust, founded in 1964, is comparable to The CF Foundation in the U.S., as both fund research projects and provide supportive services for those with CF and their families.
