Looking toward the future
The constancy of chronic conditions can be one of the things that makes living with them so difficult. It’s difficult dealing with the same routines day in and day out, especially when those routines can be the difference between managing symptoms or losing control. It’s important to remember that progress is being made towards better understanding cystic fibrosis and finding more effective treatments for it. Although at times this progress may seem slow, patients, families, and the medical community alike are all dedicated to finding a cure for this disease. 2017 is full of examples of individuals stepping up to the plate to raise awareness and funds for continued research, of patients suffering from the disease living bravely, and of researchers making strides towards ending it once and for all. The fight isn’t over, there’s certainly plenty more to be done, but if anything, 2017 should give us hope for what’s to come next.
