Despite Cystic Fibrosis, Professional Triathlete Won 11 Ironman Championships

Lisa has built quite a long list of victories

Bentley never let her disease get her down. Soon after being diagnosed with CF in her early 20s, she finished her first triathlon. Over the next 8 years, she advanced in the sport and went on to compete in Olympic-distance triathlons on an international level. The fierce competitor has participated in 33 races, including:

  • 5 Straight Ironman Australia victories, 3 Ironman Canada victories, 2 Ironman New Zealand victories, and 1 Ironman Germany victory
  • 11 Ironman 70.3 victories
  • Sub 3-hour Ironman marathon at Ironman Canada and Ironman Australia
  • 11 races at the Ironman World Championship, finishing among the top 5 a total of 4 times and never being lower than 9th place
  • 5th place in the 1998 I.T.U. World Long Course Championships
  • 2nd place in the 1997 Ironman Canada race
  • 6th place in the Pan American Games in Argentina
