Does Fibromyalgia Still Have a Credibility Problem?

The importance of exercise in treatment

Low-impact physical activities have been shown to be one of the most effective non-drug treatments of fibromyalgia, with a proven role in decreasing painful symptoms.

While exercise has to be low impact, it also has to be for an extended period of time. A person with fibromyalgia should exercise for about an hour each day, six times a week. Starting with one hour a day may be quite challenging. If this is the case, a person can begin with whatever period is comfortable for them and slowly increase the length of each session.
