Surprisingly, the test resulted in 20% of untreated patients suffering from obstructive sleep apnea failing the test, while none of the people that did not suffer from the syndrome failed it. The general performance in that 20% of untreated patients was much worse than the rest, with a pronounced deviation from their lane. Dr. Dwarakanath and Dr. Elliott stated that people with untreated obstructive sleep apnea have an increased occurrence of accidents that doubles the rate of people without this syndrome.
