Experts Say New Autism Study Is a Shocking Wake-Up Call

Those not diagnosed are at a higher risk

According to the latest study conducted by researchers at Coventry University, individuals who express certain characteristics of autism, such as lack of social communication, yet without a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), are at an increased risk of suicide. While previous research has suggested a connection between autistic individuals and an increased risk of suicide, this is the first study to propose a connection between individuals who have not been diagnosed with autism but rather possess certain autistic characteristics and an increased risk of suicide.
