Facioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy
It is among the three most common genetic muscular disorders. Most of the people suffering from it develop symptoms in their teenage. Symptoms of this disease condition start from the upper part of the body can slowly progress to the lower part. Involvement of various facial muscles is quite common.
In this condition weakening of loss of vision is mostly due to retinal telangiectasia (dilation of retinal blood vessels). Retinal detachment and resulting blindness it the severe complication of this ailment. Due to the weakening of extra-ocular muscles conditions like ptosis (drooping of eyelids), lagophthalmos (inability to close eyes), other difficulties in eye movement develop. Dysfunction of eyelids increases the risk of various infections of the ocular surface(6).
