Federal Lawmakers Support Autism with Safety and Wandering Act

Technological advances can help even further

In addition to training, Kevin and Avonte’s Law seeks to provide information, resources, and technological advantages to first responders searching for a missing person. First responders will be equipped with local tracking technologies to help them find missing persons as soon as possible, and information on the specific missing person will help first responders get a better idea of where a wandering child with autism might go. If that child is known to be attracted to certain places or environments, like water, the information might lead first responders in the right direction without hesitation.
