Tai chi and massage therapy are effective methods

Another wonderful option for pain management is a form of meditation and gentle exercise called tai chi. This ancient art form uses deep breathing, slow and controlled movements combined with meditation. It’s known for improving stamina by using low impact movements. For fibro patients, an activity like tai chi could be considered the perfect gentle exercise; however, like any kind of activity, there is a risk of injuries like sprains from the repetitive motions if done too often.

Massage therapy, if done well, is also an option to help ease fibro pain.  Since some of the pain that is experienced by fibro patients is beneath the skin, extreme caution needs to be taken when getting a massage to not cause more pain. Be sure to inform the massage therapist of any medical conditions that could possibly be exacerbated by intense massage.
