One-year-old Marwa in France was put under an induced coma after a virus attacked her own immune system. Her parents, however, believed that she had a chance to live. They put out a petition on Change.org, that brought over 100,000 signatures to keep their baby alive for as long as possible. Her parents stated how they believed her treatment was working, because she was moving and recognizing her parents.

The petition kept her alive for long enough, but the doctors at La Timone Hospital in Marseille, France believed it was time to take her off. However, while the doctors believed it was time to take her off, the baby suddenly woke up as they were about to pull the plug.
