Her Legs Were Twisted by 180 Degrees. Surgery Amazingly Fixed Them Back in Place
Eleven-year-old Justine was born with Blont’s disease, a growth disorder that twisted her legs 180 degrees. Though Justine played with other children and was able to skip, it took her hours to walk the two and a half miles between her home and school. When a charity named Mercy Ships came to Cameroon, Justine was one of the first patients to have life-changing surgery.
The surgeons were able to cut the bones in each of her legs and put them in place using casts. Five months later, Justine is able to walk with the best of them and play the same as other kids her age.
