They Had Conjoined Twins, But They Risked Everything to Have Them Separated
Bellanie and Ballanie Camacho were conjoined twins at birth. But, their parents put aside everything to travel from the Dominican Republic to New York City when they heard that it was possible to separate their two beautiful girls. The Camachos left everything: their jobs, home, and 2-year-old and 10-year-old daughters. And, they returned to Santo Domingo with barely anything to their name. But, thanks to the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, the twins were separated after an intense, 22-hour operation. Bellanie and Ballanie immediately became more assertive, vivacious, and observant. They even recognize each other as their own sister.
