Having a Supportive Partner When Living with Crohn's or Colitis

The link between IBD and depression

A recent study found that there is a link between IBD and depression. Having depression can cause you to experience negative feelings, isolate yourself from society, and even cause a worsening in your symptoms. It is a vicious cycle that is bound to keep on repeating if you keep the stress associated with your disease bottled up. You should let your loved ones know that stress did not cause your disease but they help you carry the burden. There is no shame in asking for help, especially from those who are closest to you and who love you no matter what.
