For a long time, it was believed that sleep apnea was only a problem that disrupted sleep. Most people still believe that snoring is something normal among people, especially with men, but that is far from the truth. The truth is that an obstruction of the airway can do more damage to the system than only triggering loud snores in the middle of the night.
When oxygen levels fall and carbon dioxide levels rise, many different things can happen in the body, such as a spike in heart rate, blood pressure and hormones.
