For a long time, it was believed that sleep apnea was only a problem that disrupted sleep. Most people still believe that snoring is normal among people, especially with men, but the truth is that an obstruction of the airway can do more damage to the system than trigger loud snores in the middle of the night.

When oxygen levels fall and carbon dioxide levels rise, many different things can happen in the body, such as a spike in heart rate, blood pressure and hormones. Furthermore, sleep apnea has also been linked to other chronic medical conditions that are known to be able to cause a sudden death.
