How Is Each Type of Crohn's Disease Different?

Ileocolitis

Ileocolitis is the most common type of Crohn’s disease, accounting for over 75% of all cases. Its name derives from the part of the gastrointestinal tract that it affects: the small intestine, also known as the ileum, and the colon. Symptoms of this type of Crohn’s disease include diarrhea, abdominal pain, cramping, and significant weight loss. If symptoms become extremely severe, they can lead to complications such as inflammatory mass, intestinal blockage, and abscesses.
