How Love Helps to Overcome the Challenges of Kennedy's Disease

Charlie's difficult decision

After nearly twenty years working the same job, Charlie finally had to leave it as a technical service adviser. A big part of his job was talking on the phone for as much as eight hours a day. As his disease progressed, so did his ability to clearly speak.  It was getting to the point that people were unable to understand him and the toll of working his weakened muscles to clearly pronounce works was wearing on him.

Despite the difficult decision he had to make, Charlie is grateful for the time that he was able to work and the wonderful experiences that it gave him.  He also theorized that the many years of exercising those muscles needed to speak are the reason that he can still use his voice.
