Love in the community
For KD patients, being surrounded by love is more than just support emotionally. Often in times of need, communities will band together and through their love and support help patients out. It could be as simple as creating a prayer line through a church, or a community center organizing a weekly meal drop-off. For the Capoti family, the support and love from their Church community resulted in an accessible van for Charlie. Now, when he and his wife want to hit the town, he can simply scoot into the vehicle with his motorized wheelchair and off they go.
